Scientific training – MSc Renata Leder / Znanstveno usavršavanje Mr.Sc. Renate Leder

Associate mr. sc. Renata Leder, form Department of Viticulture and Enology of Croatian Centre for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on June 2016 finished her short-term training at Department of Environmental Sciences Institute “Jožef Stefan” in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with the aim of improving knowledge in the field of stable isotope analysis of olive oil.

Training was led by Prof Nives Ogrinc, whose area of work and research is related to the application of geochemistry and stable isotopes in different areas. In the area of food, she investigated the application of stable isotopes as markers for origin and authenticity of various foods, such as honey, olive oil, wine, milk and fruit juices. She has published more than 110 papers and 10 book chapters, and her work has been recognized through more than 730 citations. She coordinated several national and international projects.

As one of the partners of spec-T-oil Project, ZVV-HCPHS will participate in determining the isotopic ratio 13C/12C in samples of olive oil by mass spectrometry. During training, temes that MSc Leder explore were; (I) the ratio of the theory and applications of stable isotopes 13C / 12C in the olive oil, (ii) sample preparation and analytical sequence analysis of the olive oil, (iii) the type and application of the reference materials, (v) examination of the various analytical techniques for the determination of stable isotopes in food and environment (GC-C-IRMS, OH / CNS) and (vi) review of studies using various techniques (GC-MS, GC-IT-MS, ICP-MS, LC-Qtrap, LC-QTOF) aimed at determining the adulteration of food and the quality of the environment

Suradnica mr. sc.
