Steering Committee meeting / Sastanak Nadzornog odbora

Third Steering Committee meeting was held on October 18, 2016 at the Institute’s lecture hall, Split.

Main focus was on the soil samples analysis (defining elements and partner laboratories for the conduction of specific analysis) and definition of samples for strontium analysis.

Treći sastanak Nadzornog odbora Projekta održan je 18. listopada 2017. u u Vijećnici Instituta.

Plan rada i vrmenik određivanja analiza uzorcaka tla (definiranje elemenata i laboratorija za provođenje specifičnih analiza) te odabir uzoraka za analizu stronicija bio je glavni fokus sastanka.

Workshop / Radionica

The workshop for project members led by Professor Zed Rengel was held on October 17, 2016 in the video conference hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Split.

„Exploring the world of roots” and „Micronutrients in soil, plants and humans”

were the lectures through which Professor introduced and explained biologically important trace elements and its research methodology.

U ponedjeljak 17. listopada 2016. za suradnike projekta u videokonferencijskoj dvorani (TCR) Fakulteta elektrotehnike, strojarstva i brodogradnje (Ruđera Boškovića 32, Split) održana je radionica pod vodstvom prof Zed Rengela.

Kroz predavanja „Exploring the world of roots” and „Micronutrients in soil, plants and humans” profesor je suradnike upozna i objasnio biološki važne elemenata u tragovima kao i metodologiju istraživanja istih.

Predavanje – Biologically important trace elements, research methodology

U sklopu spec-T-oil projekta (http://spec-t-oil.krs.hr/) koji se odvija uz potporu Fonda “Jedinstvo uz pomoć znanja„ (Unity through Knowledge Fund – UKF) dana 17. listopada 2016. (ponedjeljak) ugledni profesor i suvoditelj projekta Prof. Zed Rengel, School of Earth and Environment, University of Western Australia održati će predavanje naslova:

‘Biologically important trace elements, research methodology’.

Dr.sc. Rengel je Winthrop Profesor u Školi za Tlo i Okoliš, Sveučilište Zapadne Australije. Diplomirao je na biologiji i napravio magisterij iz biologije stanice na Prirodoslovno-matematičkom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, a doktorat je obranio na Louisiana State University u SAD-u.

Radi na kretanju korisnih i toksičnih iona u prirodnim i poljoprivrednim okolišima, biologiji i kemiji rizosfere, mehanizmima efikasnosti primanja i iskorištavanja hranjiva kod različitih genotipova, ishrani biljaka i ljudi mikrohranjivima, i 3-D modeliranju rasta i funkcije korijena u tlu.

Predavanje će se s početkom u 11:00 sati održati u videokonferencijskoj dvorani (TCR) Fakulteta elektrotehnike, strojarstva i brodogradnje (Ruđera Boškovića 32, Split).

Svi zainteresirani su dobrodošli na predavanje.

UKF specToil team welcomes new post-doc

On July 18, 2016 Filip Pošćić joined the UKF spec-T-oil team as post-doc.

He received his Master Degree in Biology – specialization in Molecular Biology in 2007 from University of Trieste (Italy) with a dissertation entitled “Nucleotide diversity in coding and regulatory regions in maize”. He received his PhD in Economics, Ecology and Preservation of Agricultural and Landscape-Environmental Systems – curricula Ecology in 2012 from University of Udine (Italy) with a PhD dissertation entitled “Metal tolerance and ecological characterization in populations of a pseudometallophyte Biscutella laevigata L”.

In 2011 he was a visiting PhD student at Vrije University, Amsterdam (Netherlands). From 2012 to 2016 he had postdoctoral research fellows in (i) phytoremediation and tolerance of copper and hexavalent chromium, (ii) silver toxicity, and (iii) effects of cerium oxide nanoparticles in crops.

His research interests include research on element homeostasis and evolution of hyperaccumulators. He participated in different projects and he was a winner of a research grant for young scientist on nanoparticles and plants interactions in 2013 at the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences of University of Udine.

He has co-authored nine Peer-Reviewed papers in international journals, two book chapters and about ten conference proceedings papers. He is reviewer for several international journals.

Od 18. srpnja 2016. Filip Poščić pridružio UKF spec-T-oil timu kao poslijedoktorand.

Magistrirao je biologiju sa specijalizacijom u molekularnoj biologiji 2007. na Sveučilištu u Trstu (Italija) s disertacijom pod naslovom “Nukleotidna raznolikost u kodirnim i regulatornim sekvencama u kukuruzu”. Doktorirao je 2012. sa specijalizacijom u ekologiji na Sveučilištu u Udinama (Italija) s doktorskom disertacijom pod naslovom “Tolerancija metala i ekološka karakterizacija populacija fakultativne metalofite Biscutella laevigata L”.

Godine 2011. bio je gostujući doktorski student na Sveučilištu Vrije, Amsterdam (Nizozemska). Od 2012. do 2016. zaposlen je kao postdoktorand s fokusom na  (i) fitoremedijaciji i toleranciji bakra i kroma, (ii) toksičnosti srebra, i (iii) učincima cerij-oksid nanočestica u usjevima.

Njegovi istraživački interesi obuhvaćaju istraživanja o homeostazi elemenata i evolucije hiperakumulatora. Sudjelovao je u raznim projektima i pobjednik je istraživačke stipendije na Sveučilištu u Udinama za mlade znanstvenike 2013. na polju interakcije nanočestica i biljaka.

Koautor je devet recenziranih radova u međunarodnim časopisima, dva poglavlja u knjigama, i oko desetak kongesnih radova. Recenzent je nekoliko međunarodnih časopisa.

Second Steering Committee meeting was held on July 05, 2016 at the Library of the Department of Soil Amelioration, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagreb. Report according to the work plan for the first 6 months of the Project as well as the milstones and KPI that have to be done in the second 6 months of the project were discussed.

Drugi sastanak Nadzornog odbora Projekta održan je 05. srpnja 2016. u knjižnici Zavoda za melioracije Agronomskog fakulteta u Zagrebu. Prezentirani su rezultati, odrađeni zadacima i ciljevi definirani planom rada u prvih 6 mjeseci provedbe projekta, te definirani i raspravljeni miljokazi  i KPI-s koji moraju biti provedeni u drugih 6 mjeseci projekta.

Scientific training – MSc Renata Leder / Znanstveno usavršavanje Mr.Sc. Renate Leder

Associate mr. sc. Renata Leder, form Department of Viticulture and Enology of Croatian Centre for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on June 2016 finished her short-term training at Department of Environmental Sciences Institute “Jožef Stefan” in Ljubljana, Slovenia, with the aim of improving knowledge in the field of stable isotope analysis of olive oil.

Training was led by Prof Nives Ogrinc, whose area of work and research is related to the application of geochemistry and stable isotopes in different areas. In the area of food, she investigated the application of stable isotopes as markers for origin and authenticity of various foods, such as honey, olive oil, wine, milk and fruit juices. She has published more than 110 papers and 10 book chapters, and her work has been recognized through more than 730 citations. She coordinated several national and international projects.

As one of the partners of spec-T-oil Project, ZVV-HCPHS will participate in determining the isotopic ratio 13C/12C in samples of olive oil by mass spectrometry. During training, temes that MSc Leder explore were; (I) the ratio of the theory and applications of stable isotopes 13C / 12C in the olive oil, (ii) sample preparation and analytical sequence analysis of the olive oil, (iii) the type and application of the reference materials, (v) examination of the various analytical techniques for the determination of stable isotopes in food and environment (GC-C-IRMS, OH / CNS) and (vi) review of studies using various techniques (GC-MS, GC-IT-MS, ICP-MS, LC-Qtrap, LC-QTOF) aimed at determining the adulteration of food and the quality of the environment

Suradnica mr. sc. Renata Leder, dipl. ing. iz Zavoda za vinogradarstvo i vinarstvo Hrvatskog centra za poljoprivredu, hranu i selo usavršavala se u području analitike stabilnih izotopa maslinovog ulja na Odsjeku za znanosti o okolišu Instituta „Jožef Stefan“ u Ljubljani, Slovenija.

Usavršavanje je vodila prof. dr. sc. Nives Ogrinc, čije je područje rada i istraživanja vezano uz geokemiju i primjenu stabilnih izotopa u različitim područjima. U području hrane je istraživala primjenu stabilnih izotopa kao markera izvornosti odnosno porijekla i autentičnosti različitih namirnica, kao što su med, maslinovo ulje, vino, mlijeko i voćni sokovi. Objavila je više od 110 radova i 10 poglavlja u knjigama, a njezin je rad prepoznat i kroz više od 730 citata. Koordinirala je više nacionalnih i međunarodnih projekata te oranizirala nekoliko konferencija/simpozija.

Kao jedan od partnera na ovome projektu ZVV-HCPHS će sudjelovati kroz određivanje izotopnih omjera 13C/12C u uzorcima maslinovog ulja masenom spektrometrijom. Tijekom usavršavanja Mr.SC Leder se podrobnije upoznala sa sljedećim temama; (i) teorija i aplikacija omjera stabilnih izotopa 13C/12C u maslinovom ulju, (ii) priprema uzorka i analitičke sekvence pri analizi maslinovog ulja, (iii) vrste i primjena referentnih materijala, (v) pregled raznih analitičkih tehnika za određivanje stabilnih izotopa u hrani i okolišu (GC-C-IRMS, OH/CNS) te (vi) pregled istraživanja raznim tehnikama (GC-MS, GC-IT-MS, ICP-MS, LC-Qtrap, LC-Qtof) usmjerenim na utvrđivanje patvorenja hrane te kvalitetu okoliša

COMPETITON

for election of postdoctoral researcher for work on the UKF project “Role of soil properties and environmental conditions in elemental and isotopic composition of the olive: basis for oil geographic traceability”, for a fixed-term contract until Decembre 14, 2017.

Besides the general conditions prescribed by the Labour Act candidates must also meet the requirements stipulated by the Law on Science and Higher Education.

Conditions for the position:

  • PhD in natural or biotechnical sciences
  • fluency in English

Priority is given to candidates with experience in scientific research in the field of geochemistry of elements in soils and plants.

The application must be accompanied by:

  • a brief summary of the scientific activities and a list of scientific papers

za izbor na radno mjesto poslijedoktoranda za rad na UKF projektu “Role of soil properties and environmental conditions in elemental and isotopic composition of the olive: basis for oil geographic traceability”, na određeno vrijeme do 14.12.2017.

Pristupnici na natječaj osim općih uvjeta propisanih Zakonom o radu moraju ispunjavati uvjete propisane Zakonom o znanstvenoj djelatnosti i visokom obrazovanju.

Uvjeti za radno mjesto:
