Presentation on Hyperaccumulators / Predavanje o hiperakumulatorima

Dr Filip Pošćić on Janury 11 2016 at the Faculty of Science of the University of Split held a lecture.

In his lecture entitled “Hyperaccumulators of ecotoxic metals; evolution & physiology” he started with a general introdution on plant morphology and physiology. He contionued on plant mineral apsorption and plant adaptations on metalliferous soils. Furthermore, hyperaccumulators, a group of metallicoulous plants were descibed. These plants can actively translocate large quantities of toxic metals such as Cu, Zn, Cd and Ni from roots to shoots. Finally their homeostasis and evolution were disscused.

Dr. sc.
